I am often asked this question and always have the same response, “If you don’t like the fish you’re catching, change your bait.”

In other words, look and evaluate yourself.  Ask yourself, “What do I have to offer a partner?”  Many people envision the perfect mate and see all these wonderful characteristics, but they themselves do not possess equally desirable characteristics.  It is important to always be working on yourself, both internally and externally.  You could do the obvious; go to the gym, start running, etc., but equally important is to evaluate what makes you interesting or attractive beyond the physical.  Now that you are single you have time to pursue those hobbies or learn something you have always thought would be interesting, but never had the ambition or time.  Now is the time.  Change that bait.
